Passing of coach Greg Jones
It was with great sadness that the club learned of the recent death of our long-serving manager and coach Greg Jones. In addition to managing teams within the club, he also took on the role of coaching our youngest players in the Saturday morning football school.
Many current players and coaches will remember how they started their first steps in becoming involved in grassroots junior football with Greg. He was an excellent ambassador for those who volunteer their time in grassroots sports.
Greg was an enthusiastic and supportive coach, well-liked and respected by players and fellow coaches, and he will undoubtedly be missed by all at Kader.
We learned from his family that Kader FC was Greg’s ‘Happy place’, and we were extremely grateful to learn that the family would like those who knew Greg to make a donation to the club in his memory. The money raised will be put towards a memorial bench and plaque to be located on the club grounds.
